Trevor Cohen
Assistant Professor
Department of Biomedical Informatics
Dr. Cohen joined ASU in 2007, after completing his doctoral studies at Columbia University's Department of Biomedical Informatics. Previously he has worked as a physician in South Africa.
My research focus is at the intersection between statistical models of language and cognitive models of medical expertise. In particular I am interested in the simulation of aspects of expert comprehension to support applications in clinical and consumer health informatics. In addition, I have an interest in the distributed cognitive processes that underlie medical error in the critical care domain, with a focus on error detection and prevention within this complex work environment.
