Dr. Johnson’s research focuses on the development and application of community wide health information systems. He directs Arizona HealthQuery, a unique health data system that includes more than 4,000,000 citizens of Arizona. In addition, he directs studies of the Arizona health workforce, a multi-state study of the causes and consequences of back pain and a study of health care disparities among Latino children. His previous research includes participation in the Harvard study of medical malpractice and pioneering studies of the effect of discrimination against persons with disabilities.
